Pro-Choice, Not Abortion The decision to support abortion is the same as a decision to support free speech. In the US, a woman has the right to make the choice. Women have the right to make decisions about when and with whom they reproduce with. Fredrika writes, No woman wants an abortion as she wants an ice cream cone or a Porsche. She wants an abortion as an animal caught in a rap wants to gnaw off its own leg (Mathewes-Green, Real Choices, 19.) What Fredrika is trying to say is just because a person is pro-choice doesnt not make them pro-abortion, it makes them a person with a difficult decision. Not being unable to cope with this process they soon turn to drugs and alcohol to numb the pain; putting their life at stake, harming themselves because they find this an easy way out to escape. These endangered woman should at least have a say in what they thing is whats best for them, not what is best for this unborn fetus that happened from an unfortunate event. The economy today, most civilians are in poverty and slowly increasing; realistically people now find it difficult to support themselves. As most Americans know, we are currently in a recession meaning us Americans are in a financial bind making living expenses more complex to get. Now and days people need not only a substantial job but two jobs at that. So if a couple choose not to have an abortion that family now has to feed another mouth making it difficult which now they are a struggling family. The fact that we are in a recession, everything we purchase is increased and taxed more. Now how will a family working to make ends meet be able t o support not only themselves as an individual but a new baby AND most likely their partner.
